The NATA Ethics Committee is
committed to upholding the integrity of the profession
on your behalf. To be effective, we need your help.
If you believe that a member is conducting him/herself
in an unethical manner, complete a simple ethics
complaint form and mail it to the NATA office. An
ethics complaint form can be obtained online at the NATA
website:
http://www.nata.org/codeofethics/ethics_complaintform.pdf.
All information submitted to the NATA Ethics committee
remains confidential.
The type of cases that the committee has deliberated on
this year include practicing without a state license,
engaging in child pornography, abetting an unlicensed
athletic trainer, having sex with a minor, and violating
membership standards. While many of these ethical cases
are explicit and have a legal component, the ethics
committee welcomes ambiguous cases, too.
In effort to assist the NATA membership in judging
ethical and unethical behavior, an ethics educational
subcommittee has been developed. If members have any
suggestions or comments please send them to Judy Pulice,
NATA Staff liaison to the Ethic Committee. |
